Submission Guidelines

Torrid Literature Journal

The Torrid Literature Journal is a quarterly publication of literature. The editors are currently accepting submissions for Volume III - The Forgotten Art which will be released online and in print July 1, 2012. 


Poetry:

Please send up to 3 unpublished poems per submission. TL Publishing, Inc. is looking for thought provoking poetry that substantially burns mental, emotional, and societal barriers. TL Publishing, Inc. seeks poems that pull the reader into the writer’s work of art. Good literature should deliver inspirational relief, expanded insight using various points of views, and/or settle into the hearts of the readers. Please note: For our third volume, we are specifically interested in: experimental poetry, poetry collaborations, and form poetry. Free verse poetry will still be considered also.

Fiction:

Please send unpublished short fiction works in 3,000 words or less. TL Publishing, Inc. is looking for short fiction in various genres that catches the reader’s eye from the first few lines. We want the readers to be held captive to the writer’s imagination.

In general, we seek work that makes us fall in love with literature all over again. Bare yourself through your art and talent. We want to be repeatedly reminded of why we do what we do.

All entries should be submitted via email to submissions@torridliterature.com. Entries should either be included in the body of the email or attached as an easily readable file such as .doc, .txt, or .rtf format, with either “Poetry Submission” or “Fiction Submission” in the subject line.

Also, in your email submission, please send us a short bio of yourself and a small response regarding why you write. You may also upload your submission using our submission manager: http://torridliterature.submishmash.com/submit.

Response time to submissions varies depending on the volume of entries received. However, if you do not hear from us within 8 weeks of your submission, please feel free to send us a query by email to submissions@torridliterature.com.

No English translations please. We will accept simultaneous submissions, however if your work is accepted elsewhere, please let us know.

TL Publishing, Inc. acquires one-time electronic and print publication rights. All rights revert to the author upon publication.

Christian Anthology

TL Publishing, Inc. is proud to announce its first Christian poetry anthology. Our book anthology will contain a collection of poetry from select authors. Below are the submission guidelines. Please contact one of our editors listed on the Masthead page if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to the reading pleasure.

• Our reading period is from January 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012.
• Please send a maximum of 5 poems (no fiction):
  • Email your submission as a Word Document to submissions@torridliterature.com with “Gospel Anthology Submission” in the subject line; or
  • Upload your submission via our online submission manager.
  • Poems should be less then 35 lines long. Longer works will still be considered.
  • All work received will automatically be considered for the Torrid Literature Journal.
  • Please send original, unpublished work only.
  • Poets will retain all rights to their work after the anthology is published
  • No simultaneous submissions accepted. We will respond within usually 4-6 weeks.
• No monetary compensation or royalties will be paid by the publisher. Contributors selected will receive a free e-copy of the anthology once it is published along with the option to purchase the book in print at a discounted cost (plus shipping). The contributor is welcome to purchase the book for re-sell purposes.
• Details on where to purchase and/or download the book will be released at a later time.
